St. James Children's Ministry

Children in Worship

Children are important to us at St. James Church because they are important to our Lord. We treasure each child as a precious gift from God, and we joyfully accept our privilege and responsibility to train them to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

We plan seasonal activities, such as our Children's program of Lessons and Carols, to teach our children about the Church calendar and to lead in the praise and worship of their Savior.

Children in Ministry

The whole St. James family participates in community mission and ministry activities to bring the love of Christ to the world around them. Many of the mission activities are chosen especially with the children in mind so that they can learn to serve others. In October 2005, several of the children walked with their moms in the "Race for the Cure," and in the spring of 2006, we began working on projects for the Neighborhood Christian Center. This photo shows some of our diligent boys posing after helping to pack school supplies for Neighborhood Christian Center.

Children in Training

"The ABC's of God"

Our children's Sunday School class is studying the Desiring God Ministries' Sunday School curriculum, which uses Holy Scripture to teach children to answer three questions about God:

  • Who is God?

  • What is He like?

  • How should I act toward Him?

Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:15 am.

(Read more about the philosophy of the ABC's curriculum.)

Children at Play

A nursery is available during the first portion of the worship service for children three and under. The children return to the service during the Offertory so that families can participate together in the Lord's Supper.
